THE IDEA
You start on a trail with a backpack. What happens next is up to you.
Explore a Nordic wilderness generated from a seed. Use the same seed to find the same landscape again, or hand it to a friend.
Watch your stamina, your pack weight and the sky. Catch a fish, build a shelter, wander into a cave. There is no rush.

Still rough around the edges.
01 / EXPLOREWalk through forest and fell, find waterfalls, follow a trail into a cave. Open your map and leave notes for later.
02 / MAKE CAMPCollect wood and berries, catch fish and cook them. Build a shelter, rest by the fire, find the sauna, trade food with travellers.
03 / BE PREPAREDRain soaks the ground. Snow covers the trail but leaves it readable. Pack for it, and scout ahead with binoculars or a drone.

Small steps, tested along the way.
Plans, not promised release dates.
Explore and reveal your map, trade supplies, fish and build a camp. Scout with a drone and keep its photos. Multiplayer has chat, shared builds and music around the fire.
Sharpen touch, gamepad and multiplayer through playtests. Add a safe Continue flow for saved expeditions, then linked accounts and progress across devices.
Local co-op, offline install, deeper professions, friends and a more persistent world. Long-term ideas, once the basics work well.
FIELD NOTES / FAQ
Fjällvandring is a browser-based pixel hiking game by Daniel Lauding. Explore a generated Nordic wilderness, gather supplies, fish and make camp. It is a work in progress, with a playable solo game and an open multiplayer beta.
No. Open the game in your browser. The current test version can be played without buying the game or registering an account.
Yes. Join Open Beta or create a world from the server list. Worlds support 2–20 slots. See other hikers, chat, gather resources and build together. Some systems still run locally and are not shared.
Touch controls include separate movement and look sticks, drone controls and chat. Standard gamepads are supported in the beta. Device testing is still ongoing.
Your profile and some settings are saved on this device. Multiplayer worlds keep shared gathering and builds. Resuming a complete expedition, including inventory, position and skill progress, is planned and not available yet.
Daniel gets your email address and emails you when the next playtest opens. Nothing else. The list is not shared or sold, and you can ask to be removed at any time.
Yes. Every image on this page is a screenshot from a development build, shown pixel for pixel rather than resized. The forecast buttons only tint this page. The actual game continues to change.
Email Daniel with what happened, your device and browser, and what you expected. Screenshots help. You can also share a real hiking story using the form below.
ABOUT THE CREATOR
I’m making Fjällvandring: a small game about exploring, being outdoors and finding things to do along the way. It is still taking shape. Your feedback decides what I work on next.
Found a bug? Got an idea? I’d like to hear it.

A river crossing. A night in the rain. A hut you still remember.
Your hikes could become a place, an errand or a small detail in the game. Send a story, and a photo if you have one.
